Big appetites expected for Rastrick’s Big Event

Stall holders and performers are ready to keep the masses entertained as they gear up for the Big Event in Rastrick.

Organised by Rastrick Big Local Partnership, in conjunction with the NHS, the day is set for its opening at Rastrick Cricket Club on Saturday at 11am.

Local residents including Brenda Marsh who will be selling cakes and buns at her Scrummy Yummy Cakes stall, and businesses such as PS4 fitness in Brighouse, will be at the ground on Clough Lane.

Charities such as Overgate Hospice, Macmillan Nurses, the Forget Me Not Children Hospice will be there along with representatives from Brighouse Festival.

Along with face painting, bouncy castles, go karts and other family entertainment, there will be a Thwaites beer tent on site all day.

The adults’ It’s a Knockout competition will start at 11am followed by the kids’ at 1pm.

Singer Roger Davies will take to the stage at 2.30pm before the second half of It’s a Knockout at 3pm.

From 5pm-6pm the site will be cleared of visitors before the evening entertainment from Laura Bottomley, Signed Anonymous and a Robbie Williams tribute act take to the stage at 7pm.
