Beth aims high to help her beat those extra stones

Tipping the scales at an all time high of over 14 stone was just one stone too many for Beth Raistrick from Brighouse.

Since her first son was born 11 years ago, Beth has been on all sorts of weight loss programmes which never seemed to suit her lifestyle. The 35-year-old mum-of-two has a real passion for food so didn’t want to cut out anything that she enjoyed.

With this in mind Beth decided to take the plunge and join Slimming World.

As the weeks passed by and the weight started to come off. “Even though I have a very busy life running from one activity to another with the boys, I now make time to sit down to eat a meal rather than grabbing what I can when I can,” she said.

“I love food and always will but Slimming World is a way of life not just a diet.

“I have now lost two stone and feel fantastic but have still got quite a way to go before I hit my personal target,” she said.

Beth and her family recently went to Scotland and decided to attempt the hike up Ben Nevis.

Upon reaching the halfway point, Beth decided that enough was enough and she wasn’t fit enough to carry on. However Beth has challenged herself that when she has reached her target weight she will go back and reach the summit.

Beth now runs her own group at St Matthews Parish Centre in Rastrick at 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Thursday’s.
