Awareness day planned for town

Volunteers from Huddersfield Samaritans will be hosting a popup branch in Brighouse on Wednesday between 10am and noon in Canal Street.

They will be raising awareness of the importance of talking about problems, and reminding people of its vital support for anyone struggling to cope.

This event is just one of 40 that are taking place as the charity attempts to hold its largest conversation. Peopl can also get involved in the campaign by texting ‘SUPPORT’ to 70123 nad making a £3 donation to the charity.

Director Michael George said: “People can contact us at any time of day or night, they don’t have to be suicidal to get in touch.”
