A FRAME designer who has helped establish an art gallery in Brighouse will be hanging up his tools.

David Woffindin has been working at the Harrison Lord Gallery, Bradford Road, for the past seven years.

He has decided to hang up his tools when he celebrates his birthday tomorrow.

Mr Woffindin, who has lived in Brighouse for over 40 years, said he had gained a great deal of satisfaction from working at a local business, which differed enormously from his previous job as a national sales manager.

“I have got a lot of enjoyment from seeing local people on a regular basis.

“At a business like this you get to spend far more time with customers,” he said.

“I started here on a part time basis and it just took off from there.

“During my time here I hope that through the work we have carried out as a team we have made the shop and the gallery a more vibrant and well known place for people to come and visit.”

Mr Woffindin said that he is now looking forward to the extra free time on his hands and trips away with his wife Kathleen.

Owner of the Harrison Lord Gallery, Stephen Lord and members of staff presented David with a watch.

Mr Lord said David had made a valuable contribution to the business. “His skill and eye for detail have been a tremendous asset to the gallery.”
