Budding artists from Hipperholme Grammar School are set for the national stage after winning in five categories in the regional heats of the annual Independent Schools Association (ISA) Art Competition.

Three pupils from the school have also been individually shortlisted for their work after seeing off tough competition from over 80 competitor schools across the North of England.

Artwork by head girl Emily Haigh-Jacobs, Emilia Haigh and Mollie Rose will now go forward to the national finals in November.

Alison Rees, an art teacher at the school, said: “This is an outstanding achievement across a wide range of artistic styles.”
