A 'TRULY scrumptious' design helped flower arrangers Janet Ratcliffe, Margaret Gill and five friends to victory at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
The two sisters were part of a team from Halifax Flower Club who were asked to represent the north east section of NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) at the prestigious event.
Janet, of Hove Edge, her sister Margaret, of Greetland, and friends Sue Maddocks, formerly of Rastrick, Susan Hirst, Julie Wilson, Pauline Wheelwright and Christine Blackburn, took a gold award with their display based on the musical 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
The 18ft diameter display contained arrangements based on the main sections of the story including the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, the Toy Maker's workshop and the Sweet Factory, all arranged around a windmill. Janet and Margaret were responsible for the Child-Catcher's Caravan.
