STUDENT Hannah Bond has hit the road for charity during her Easter holidays.
Hannah, 19, whose parents Joanna and Philip live in Halifax Road, Brighouse, is taking part in 'The Hitch' which raises cash for Link Community Development – an organisation that works to improve teaching and learning in disadvantaged schools in Africa.
Hannah and fellow students 20-year-old Mike Trowbridge, from Durham and Rebecca Tickle, 18, from Liverpool, left Newcastle for the 1,600-mile hitch-hike across Europe to Morocco.
Their aim is to cover the distance while spending as little cash as possible. Hannah went to St Andrew's Junior and Infant Schools in Brighouse before going to North Halifax Grammar School, Illingworth. Before setting off they took part in sponsored events and went round pubs and bars in the Newcastle area with collecting buckets.
