Nurse hailed a hero in blaze drama

PROMPT action by a member of staff helped prevent a serious blaze at a Rastrick children's nursery.
Nursery nurse Rachael Parr raised the alarm when she saw play equipment on fire in the grounds of Bridge End House Nursery in the early hours of Sunday.
The single-storey wooden Wendy house was destroyed in the blaze but the fire was confined to the outside area.
"If Rachael hadn't seen what was happening it could have been much worse," said Karena Skinner, manager at the nursery. "There is wooden decking nearby and everything could have gone up in flames."
