POLICE are trying to piece together the last few hours of a 21-year-old man's life before his body was discovered at a Brighouse address.
Thomas William Hodgson, who had recently moved to Calderdale from the Barnsley area, was believed to be visiting friends in Brighouse. His body was found at a house in Rayner Road after police were called at 2.13pm on Saturday.
Police carried out house-to-house inquiries and forensic officers searched the area during the weekend.
Two men, a 28-year-old local man and a 31-year-old from Wigan, were arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. They were both released on bail.
Detective Inspector Tony Nicholson, of Calderdale CID, said they were released pending the results of toxology and histology tests. A post-mortem examination had been carried out and an inquest was opened and adjourned on Tuesday.
Mr Hodgson, who was a software developer at IT company SSP of Dean Clough, Halifax, lived at Heath Park Avenue, Halifax. Director at SSP, Mr Steve Bow, described him as a well liked and able young man.
"He had only been with us for about six months but during that time had become known as a popular and very able member of the team. He fitted in well, he was highly thought of and was succeeding in his job," said Mr Bow. "His colleagues were shocked and upset when they heard what had happened."
