THE lodge at Brighouse Cemetery has been sold at auction for £137,000.
The detached property, which had a reserve price of £100,000 was claimed by a woman buyer from Glossop, Derbyshire against competition from three rival bidders. It is understood that she wants to convert the grade two listed building back to a house. It has most recently been used as offices.

Bids from private hire companies who were reportedly interested in using the building as a taxi office did not materialise.

The lodge, which has not been used for three years, was owned by Calderdale Council which described it as surplus to requirements.
