BRIGHOUSE'S newest bar closed its doors when revellers refused to leave and fighting broke out.
A police officer was injured in the disturbance which started at the Barracuda in Huddersfield Road on Easter Monday night.
The drinkers, who are believed to have been at a celebration in the town earlier in the day, would not leave when asked to do so by door staff.
The incident led to four people being arrested for committing public order offences, assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly. They have been released on police bail.
The police officer injured in the fracas was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured. He was back on duty later in the week.
The manager at the Barracuda, Maxine Blake said the trouble had started when her assistant manager refused to serve someone with a drink.
"He took the decision that the man had had too much to drink," she said.
There were about 30 people in the bar plus a party of people including the person who the staff refused to serve.
"I took the decision to close the premises to help the police get on with their work," said Miss Blake.
