A three-year job lasted 30 years for Rita

A DINNER lady has retired after 30 years at a Brighouse school.
Rita Kidman, aged 67, was presented with a bouquet from head teacher Mrs Shirley Stoker at Woodhouse Primary School for her loyal service over the years. She also received a cheque from the staff and pupils and there was a presentation by the Parents', Teachers' and Friends' Association.

Mrs Kidman, of Brighouse, said: "I only work two hours a day but I don't want to think about retiring. It will take me a long time to adjust.

"I came here when my son, Ashley, started school. I was only supposed to be here for about three years – but I'm still here 30 years later."

She added: "I have enjoyed every minute of it otherwise I wouldn't have stayed."
