Alan and Anne Sild at The Globe, Rastrick Common, have celebrated a decade at the pub.
They had more than 80 people turn out in their black tie and evening dresses to enjoy a large hot and cold buffet as well as cheese and biscuits for dessert.
The restaurant was transformed into a casino with toy money for the evening as games of Black Jack, Poker and Roulette were played into the early hours.
“Guests came from Overgate Hospice, the volunteers and staff, plus local businesses and Marsha Jones took the evening off from the Ship Inn to join us as croupier/tutor at the tables and did a sterling job,” said Helen Clayton, a friend and patron of the Globe.
They enjoyed music from the 60s through to the 90s in the pub focusing mainly on playing Anne’s teenage pin ups. The couple received numerous cards and flowers to congratulate them and both enjoyed something they are unaccustomed to.... A night off together!!
They would like to sincerely thank everyone who turned out to wish them well in what was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The Christmas menu will start on Tuesday, December 3.
