You will have read in the Echo sports pages that Brighouse Town need to make ground improvements by March 31 to statisfy the FA playing at the level they are now.

These of course come at a cost and the community spirit is overflowing as several pubs around the Echo readership area are lending their support.

Rachel Bray at Jeremy’s has for the next fortnight placed a collection pot on the bar and has also suggested some in-house fundraising.

Marsha Jones at The Old Ship Inn has also put a collection glass on the bar and will be holding a raffle to win Real Ale and chocolate.

Natalie Hayton, at The Sun Inn, Rastrick, is also collecting for the team and is going to hold a raffle.

Alan Ingle, former Rastrick and Brighouse landlord and is from the area, now landlord at the Pear Tree at Battyeford, Mirfield, has made a tremendous personal donation to his hometown club.

“We are overwhelmed by the support,” added Brighouse Town Chairman Ray McLaughlin.
