l Tonight (Thursday) at The Barge is the weekly jam session with Simon From Big Noise. On Friday night Bad Asteroids will be on stage, followed on Saturday evening by Blood, Sweat and Beers. On Sunday night, the live music is rounded off with the very popular Psychoslinkys.

l This Friday at Jeremy’s at the Boathouse sees an appearance by The Z List. On stage on Saturday night is Luke Michael, who has a varied repetoire of songs such as Olly Murs, Michael Buble, Maroon 5 and Coldplay. The Sunday afternoon acoustic from 4pm is with Steve Chapman Smith.

l Brighouse favourite Roger Davies is playing old and new songs at The Beck this Saturday to preview his new album coming out in March 2015. On Sunday, warm mulled cider will be on sale as the Kirklees Brass Band plays from 3pm; followed by David Kennedy, Ian Crabtree and the Rainey Street Band at 4.30pm.

l The new and rejuvenated Millers Bar and Food is inviting one and all to a Christmas singalong this Saturday from 6pm.

Join the Millers’ team around the log fire and Christmas tree and enjoy a festive evening with nibbles, mulled wine, cider and other winter warmers.

l Manager Steve Richardson and his team at The Calder have been hosting a whole bunch of Christmas parties. They extended the two for one desserts deal and also have two main meals for £7.95.

“The pub looks fantastic and the response from everyone has been positive,” Steve said.

l Last week popular Rastrick duo Rick and Maggie Starkeyheld some festive cheer at the Roundhill with Emley Brass Band playing on Tuesday and Honley Male Voice Choir making an appearance on Wednesday, which went down a treat with free Christmas nibbles.

“It really put everyone in fine spirit for Christmas,” Rick said.
