This Friday night the Rastrick Bowling and Social Club is hosting a Night at the Oche - A SCARD charity darts exhibition.

For those of you not aware of what the charity SCARD is all about, it is providing support and care for those in road death and injury accidents.

The night will feature Dennis `The Menace’ Priestley, Joe `The Rockstar’ Cullen, Devon `The Spartan’ Peterson and Jamie `The Rasta’ Lewis.

There will be chances to play on the big stage against one of these great players. Tickets are available at the Rastrick Bowling Club priced at £10 per person.

A charity auction and raffle will also be held and all are welcome.

l The new menu is now available at the Armytage Arms, Clifton, and it is packed with dishes and offers to suit everyone’s taste buds and budgets.

As well as keeping the firm favourites, it has added spicy coated crackerjack prawns, BBQ pulled pork stacker burger and a new range of salads which are served in a taco basket. Plus build your own burgers with more toppings on offer than you can possibly think of, including a mixed grill burger. For fish lovers, on the ultimate plates which aren’t for the faint hearted, there is the ‘Ultimate Catch’ which contains cod fillet, scampi and prawns with all the trimmings.

The list of new dishes mixed in with firm favourites is endless.

For dessert it has also added a strawberry shortcake sundae as well as a Bailey’s sundae and a banoffe pie sundae. There is also a baked vanilla cheesecake and a mud pie explosion for those who like to share a dessert.

From noon until 5pm every day the pub is doing a lunch deal with sandwiches, jacket potato, wrap or small plate with a soft drink starting at £4.79.

Also available all day everyday is burger or hot dog with a drink from £4.99.

Monday to Friday, all day, two people can dine from the two meals for £8 menu which has five options for you to choose from.

l Tonight (Thursday) at the Barge, the weekly Jam Session is with the Psychoslinkys. On Friday evening Hungry Hearts will take to the stage, followed on Saturday night by Wild Turkey. Sunday evening will close the live music with Louis Louis Louis.

l On Saturday evening from 9pm at The Millers Bar, it has singer/songwriter from Featherstone, Gary Middleton. He will be performing acoustic covers such as Weller, Verve, Beatles, Paolo Nutini, Frattellis and many more.

l JD Wetherspoon house the Richard Oastler has introduced Mexican Mondays. You can spice up the start of your week by choosing a meal and a drink from the Mexican menu which has burritos and nachos all available with different fillings. Then just choose your drink to accompany your meal as part of the offer.

l On Friday night Sawdust will be playing classic rock ‘n’ roll from the likes of the Rolling Stones, ZZ Top and more at Jeremy’s at the Boatbouse.

On Saturday Colour Blue are playing modern chart covers and then the Acoustic Sunday is from In Echoes.

l Landlady Michelle Poutch at the Whitehall, Hipperholme, has live music on Saturday, May 9, from Cell Block 9 playing the likes of The Who, Rolling Stones and Beatles, and much more from 9pm.
