MEMBERS of St Matthew’s Theatrical Society are bringing traditional pantomime back to Rastrick Parish Centre next week.

The group is presenting the ever-popular ‘Cinderella’ from Tuesday, November 27 to Saturday, December 1.

Producer Iain Bedson said: “Over the years the society has tried to bring some of the not so well-known pantomimes to our audiences but this year we have moved back to a traditional storyline.

“This year’s production is written by Jim Sperinck of Jasper Publishing. We have used many of their scripts over the years and they always prove popular with our casts and audiences.”

Joining Iain on the production team are musical director Stephen Burnby and choregrapher Anne Haynes.

The cast includes Katy Rainford, a member of Calderdale Theatre School, as Cinderella, with Laura Bottomley as Buttons, Amy Oldfield as the Prince and Nathanial Hyde as Dandini.

The Ugly Sisters are played by society regular Martin Lawlor with John Nelson. Other principal roles include Rachel O’Connor as the Fairy Godmother, Holly Knowles as Penny Piece and Nick Clenton as the Baron.Niamh Harris is the Baroness with Brian Cutts and Beth Beal as the King and Queen and Nick Pollard as the Chamberlain.

The three comedy parts of Short, Back and Sides are played by Tom Pollard, Adam Charles and Louise Redfearn.

“Add in a chorus of villagers and frogs - and this should make for a very enjoyable evening’s entertainment,” said Iain.

Evening performances will be at 7.15pm and there is a matinee at 2.15pm on December 1. Tickets are available from 01484 710846 or 01484 718825.
