Signed, sealed and delivering Motown

AIN’T no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough . . to keep the Magic of Motown show from gathering more fans as it celebrates 50 years of glorious number one hits.

The non-stop spectacular features hits from the heyday of the Detroit record label with chart-toppers originally recorded by Motown legends such as Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Four Tops and Martha Reeves. An all-star cast and talented live band will celebrate the musical legacy of the Detroit hit factory.

Producer Michael Taylor said: “Sadly many of the original Motown legends are no longer with us or are no longer touring. The Magic of Motown show is the nearest audiences will get to authentically capturing their incredible music legacy in a live show.

“Our young cast is able to reflect the exuberance and excitiment of the Motown songs as they were originally performed.”

Now touring the country, the show will stop off at Huddersfield Town Hall on Saturday, March 17 at 7.30pm.

It isn’t just the Motown sound that the production team is keen to reproduce - equally important are the tightly-choreographed dance routines put together by male lead Andre Lejaune and costumes designed by Claire Davis.

“Every care is taken to reproduce the original look of the Motown stars on stage,” said Michael. “It wasn’t just the music that set the Motown artists apart, it was also their image, their choreography, their dress and even their manners.”

The show will feature all-time favourites such as ‘Stop in the Name of Love’, ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’, ‘My Guy’,’Heatwave’ and ‘Dancing in the Street’.
