MY piece last week certainly had the Leeds United fans hopping about in anger and so much so that two of them, Mark Edley and Graeme Noble made sure they put their words in print (see postbag).
Since my outpourings, Leeds have lost at Millwall and won handsomely at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night to go four points clear at the top of League One.
The Bristol result was a particularly good one as the Memorial Ground is not the best hunting g
round for clubs.
Maybe I was a little over critical of their performance at home to Norwich City and shouldn't have run them down when, after all, they were still unbeaten in the league.
I had only said a few weeks earlier when they gave Liverpool in the Carling Cup a real run for their money in front of, I think it was, 38,000, that it was time Leeds were back in the big time. Great atmospheric stadium, big city, big club and huge support, and the Championship and the Premier League eventually is a must.
Yet, I did add, that no one had the divine right to be there, it had to be earned.
I can assure the pair of them that I want to see Leeds back up there and we do at Doncaster, for it fills the ground and makes for another derby instead of travelling huge distances.
After seeing Sam Vokes against Norwich, although he was settling in with a new team, I wasn't the only one at Doncaster come the following night when we met up to play Peterborough who was glad we hadn't landed him on loan.
However, he was a scorer at Bristol on Tuesday and he may go on to score some more in the coming weeks and I hope the lad does.
Graeme, I wasn't short of celebrities last week to mention who I had bumped into, it was just the fact that I had sat there on the Monday night and not been that impressed, more so with the way Norwich swung the ball about and opened Leeds up, especially in that second half.
Every team and every one have off days and I should have held off commenting.
Not out of October yet and only some 11 weeks into the season and to have 33 points does see them heading in the right direction and with only needing some 17 points for division safety they can kick on with even more confidence once past that stage.
There is a long way to go and by no means am I back tracking, but they are on the right road.
At least another Leeds season ticket holder Gary Blakeley served me with fish and chips the other night and didn't sprinkle any arsenic on instead of salt!
Sorry boys I got the score wrong when Colchester beat Norwich and it should have read 7-1 instead of 7-0.

SOME live international rugby league on terrestrial television for once on Saturday when England take on Australia at the DW Stadium, Wigan (2.30). The game is on BBC 2 and should make for interesting viewing.
After the stranglehold of Sky Sports over the past 14 years it comes as quite a shock to see the BBC carrying a game and I believe they have some rights to the France v Australia game in Paris seven days on.

CONGRATULATIONS to Marjorie Weir of Rastrick Bowling and Social Club on being the captain of three sides who have all been promoted this past season.
Watch this space as we will be featuring this long time servant of the bowling club.
