GRANTS of up to £2,500 are up for grabs through West Yorkshire Police Community Trust.

The theme of the current round of grants is ‘Activities which discourage anti-social behaviour or criminality in 11-25 year olds in West Yorkshire’. Sergeant Dean Maddocks who leads the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team is urging voluntary and community groups to apply for the funding for projects.

Brighouse Road Safety Committee successfully applied for a grant last year and bought wrist bands for all the year six children at schools in the Brighouse area.

All applications must be supported by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The closing date for applications, including endorsement from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, is Friday September 14. Applications without an endorsement from the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team will not be accepted. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in October 2012 and if successful invited to an awards evening in November.
