Former Clifton Mills site in Bailiff Bridge that could be transformed into a care home and three shops along with car parking

AN APPEAL has been lodged for a care home and shops in Bailiff Bridge.

Plans to develop the site at the junction of Birkby Lane and Bradford Road were refused for a Co-op and two other shop units with associated parking including a new access road into the site from Axminster Drive.

There was also outline plans for a 56-bed car home with associated parking, all submitted by CP Group Ltd.

Now an appeal has been submitted to the Secretary of State after Calderdale Council’s planning committee opted to refuse the plans earlier this year.

The appeal will be decided on the basis of a hearing and a site visit by an inspector.

Any comments already made following the original application will be sent to the Planning Inspectorate and to the appellant and will be taken into account.

All representations must be sent in by January 22 quoting the appeal reference APP/A4710/A/12/2187816.

An appeal has also been lodged for land off Rookes Lane, Norwood Green.

The applicant Mr D, Parker is planning a mixed use agricultural building. 
The appeal will be determined on the basis of an exchange of written statements by the parties and a site visit by an inspector.
